Common Questions from New Port Richey Riders

How long is the drive from New Port Richey to the Zephyrhills training site?

From New Port Richey, expect about 40–45 minutes east on SR-54. It's a single road the entire way — SR-54 begins near US-19 and continues east through Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills to the training site.

Which Pasco County Tax Collector office should New Port Richey residents use?

Use the Gulf Harbors office at 4720 US Highway 19 in New Port Richey. The West Pasco Government Center (8731 Citizens Drive) has driver license services suspended during a remodel — the Gulf Harbors location handles motorcycle endorsements.

Can I take just a riding test instead of the full BRC?

No — Florida law (section 322.12(5)(a)) requires all new motorcycle riders to complete an FRTP-authorized Basic Rider Course before receiving the endorsement. There is no option to skip the BRC and take only a DMV riding test in Florida.
